As a Dad, Papa, and Game Warden I have encountered many situations involving children. Many of those situations are downright funny, others very serious and yes even a few a little sad. Whatever the case maybe I hope you enjoy this collection of poems…I hope they bring a smile to your face…or even a joyful tear to your eye... Since these poems came to me in the middle of the night and the 1st I titled “God’s Gift”, I guess that explains how I feel about this collection.
I carve one of a kind custom pieces to display in your home, cabin,
office or to give as a gift to a special friend. Your imagination
is your only boundary of what I will carve for you. Each custom carving
is numbered on the back and includes a “Signature Oak Leaf” which
contains the initials of the person I am carving for. It also contain
a “Note of Authenticity” which is a personal note from me and or the
person who is giving the piece as a gift, the name of the carving
and an original pen and ink drawing, with the number of the carving
and my signature. Most of the pieces I carve in a “custom piece”
are from basswood. I also use tupelo occasionally.
My goal is to inspire memories of past or future hunts, a nature
walk, or times shared with loved ones or friends enjoying the great
outdoors.
As you look at the photos remember that everything on
the barn board is carved…corn shucks, kernels of corn, all the feathers,
mushrooms, arrowheads, leaves, shotgun shells, and the deer or elk
antlers. Each custom piece is a one of a kind original. Obviously,
they are similar but I pledge never to arrange a carving the same
way twice. In addition, all the items are carved free hand…so duplication
of an exact feather or leaf is nearly impossible.

The way these carvings begin is with a long conversation between
us when I learn what is important to you. I then lock in a guaranteed
price. From that point I create your carving and you do not see it
until it is completed. My guarantee is simple…if you do not like
it you do not take it. So far I do not have any hanging in my home.
I will be happy to provide you names of folks I have completed custom
pieces for in the past.
When carving my goal is that you do not know it is wood until you
touch the item.
