 A Note from Steve: As a Dad, Papa, and Game Warden I have encountered many situations involving children. Many of those situations are downright funny, others very serious and yes even a few a little sad. Whatever the case maybe I hope you enjoy this collection of poems…I hope they bring a smile to your face…or even a joyful tear to your eye... Since these poems came to me in the middle of the night and the 1st I titled “God’s Gift”, I guess that explains how I feel about this collection. |
I began carving feather pins so that everyone who wishes to enjoy one of my carvings can do so. They are all original carvings from tupelo and I hand paint them with acrylic paint. I use a wildfowl varnish to seal the piece and it is then ready to wear. I was worried that they would be fragile…so I have worn 3 pins on a baseball cap in all kinds of weather for the last four years. So far so good! Please notice I carve the quills on the feather…my goal is to make everything look like the real feather and last time I checked real feathers have quills. I use a clasp or “tie tack backs” (clutch backs), and on some of my small pins, and clasp backs on the larger size. I use only high quality findings from a jewelry supply company. Each pin is signed and dated on the back and delivered in a jewelry box with an authenticity card also signed and dated.
